Frequently Asked Questions
What is Citrus Scent and how is it used in soft washing?
Citrus Scent is a professional, high-concentration masking agent specifically formulated to cover the strong, harsh odours of sodium hypochlorite (SH/bleach). It leaves behind a fresh citrus aroma, making the cleaning process much more pleasant for both the technician and the property owner.
Is Citrus Scent bleach-stable?
Yes. Unlike standard store-bought fragrances that immediately break down when exposed to heavy oxidizers, Citrus Scent is specifically engineered to be SH-stable. It maintains its masking capabilities and aromatic profile even when mixed directly with strong bleach solutions.
What is the recommended dilution ratio for Citrus Scent in a batch mix?
Citrus Scent is highly economical. For a standard batch mix situation using an everyday surfactant like SWASS, we recommend adding just 100 mL of Citrus Scent per 5 Litres of surfactant soap to achieve an optimal scent profile.
Can Citrus Scent be used in proportioner blend systems?
Yes, it can be drawn through a proportioner system by pre-mixing it into your dedicated surfactant tank (such as with SWASS). However, if you are looking for a pre-scented surfactant option optimized specifically for blend systems, you may also want to consider SWAPPLE, which features a built-in apple scent and color marker.
What safety and handling precautions should be followed with Citrus Scent?
As a concentrated chemical additive, operators should always avoid inhaling direct vapours, mist, or spray drift. Standard personal protective equipment (PPE)—including safety glasses and protective gloves—should be worn during handling, and hands should be washed thoroughly after use.
