Our founder, Nick Hopkins, spent 2013–2021 on the tools scrubbing roofs and houses. That "dirt-under-the-fingernails" history is built into every system we sell. Nick doesn’t do scripted answers; he looks at your gear or chemical issues practically to find a fix that actually works in the Aussie environment.

The Foundation
Nick started Excess Cleaning in 2013, trading the old career for a pressure wand and a ladder. It was years of "dirt-under-the-fingernails" work. Scrubbing roofs and washing houses across the Gold Coast to learn exactly what a cleaner needs to survive a 10-hour day in the sun.
The Pivot
Health challenges forced a pivot, but they didn't slow us down. Nick took that decade of site experience and launched Softwash Australia. By partnering with industry pros like Carlos Gonzales and Tim Aselton, and mastering the "science" behind the spray, he transitioned from the guy on the roof to the expert in your pocket.

In a fast-growing, poorly regulated industry full of "flashy" new gear, we stick to what works. We have big-business goals, but we’ll always have a family-business heart. We aren't just selling pumps; we’re setting the standard for an industry we helped build.
