How often should I replace the RO membrane?
With correct usage and regular maintenance, the RO membrane should last 2 years or more. Longevity depends on the quality of your input water and how often the system is used. To extend membrane life:

• Always flush the system after each use to remove built-up contaminants.

• Replace pre-filters regularly to protect the membrane from sediment and chlorine damage.

When should I replace the resin in the DI tank?
Monitor the water quality using your handheld TDS meter. When the reading consistently exceeds 20ppm, it’s time to replace the resin. Continuing to use exhausted resin can lead to spotting on glass and damage to sensitive surfaces.

How often do the sediment and carbon pre-filters need replacing?
Inspect pre-filters regularly. Once they turn completely brown, they’ve reached the end of their useful life. Replacement frequency will vary depending on your local water conditions, but a good rule of thumb is:

• Every 1–3 months for sediment filters

• Every 3–6 months for carbon filters
  Regular replacement keeps your system running efficiently and protects the RO membrane from premature wear.

What hose size works best with the X-ION Lite?
For optimal performance, use hoses with an internal diameter (ID) of 8mm or larger. Smaller or excessively long hoses can reduce water flow and pressure, which can affect cleaning efficiency.
Pro tip: Keep hose runs as short and direct as possible, and avoid tight coils or kinks.
